Quick answer
Compare microneedle eye patch OEM prices by normalizing formula, array, packaging, testing, quantity, Incoterm and ownership assumptions.
Normalize the product before comparing price
A quotation for one pair in a stock foil pouch is not comparable with a custom peptide formula in a formed tray, printed pouch and retail carton. Create a comparison sheet with the same unit definition, formula version, array footprint, backing, pair count, primary pack, secondary pack and order quantity.
Main cost drivers
- Raw-material grade, peptide identity and target loading
- Array size, density, geometry and filling yield
- Custom molds, backing or application components
- Drying time, environmental control and in-process inspection
- Pouch barrier, tray or liner, printing and carton configuration
- Batch release, stability, safety and claim-evidence activities
More ingredients or taller projections do not automatically create a better product. Each choice should have a defined consumer or technical purpose.
Separate recurring and non-recurring charges
Ask the supplier to itemize formula development, samples, tooling, artwork setup and test work separately from the production unit price. Confirm whether molds, specifications and artwork files are customer-owned, supplier-owned or licensed for the program. Record the conditions for reuse on later orders.
Find the hidden commercial assumptions
Check currency, tax, Incoterm, payment schedule, quote validity, overrun tolerance, defect allowance and freight packaging. Ask whether the price includes printed materials, inspection, certificate of analysis, export cartons and palletization. Clarify how unused custom components and changes after artwork approval are charged.
Model landed cost and inventory risk
Unit price is only one line. Add freight, duty, local testing or responsible-party work, warehousing, fulfillment, sampling, damaged units and the cash tied up in packaging stock. Model a conservative sales rate and expiry window. A specification that reduces write-offs can be more valuable than the lowest ex-factory number.
A fair quotation request
Request two or three clearly defined options: standard private label, limited customization and a custom ODM route. Ask each supplier to state assumptions and exclusions. Then compare cost, evidence, lead-time risk and differentiation on the same page.
