Define the commercial configuration
Single-pair pouches, multi-pair cartons and kits create different material, label, instruction and logistics questions. A multi-pair pack may still need individual barriers if repeated opening would expose unused patches.
Evaluate the complete pack
Stability should use the proposed finished formulation, backing, tray or liner, pouch, seal, secondary pack and storage statement. Bulk or unsealed samples cannot answer every commercial-package question.
Plan seal and handling controls
Define seal dimensions, visual inspection, appropriate seal-integrity testing, time outside controlled storage and loading orientation. Packaging equipment and material variability need documented settings and acceptance criteria.
Artwork comes after functional decisions
Do not lock carton dimensions or print large quantities before pouch, tray, pair count, directions, warnings, legal text and test plan are aligned. Late functional changes can invalidate artwork and launch timing.
